10/9/11 - Oct 4th, 1999. The "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign goes dark for about a month when the company that had been paying the power bill is bought by another company, which neglects to do so. When the problem is discovered, payment of the past due amount is arranged and the power is turned back on. The amount owned was less than $60. (Casino Player Magazine Facebook Page)
